Animals, animals, animals!

Hey :D

My year was on work experience last week! I went to the DSPCA which is the Dublin Society of Provention of Cruelty to Animals. It was such a great experience! I loved it. On Monday and Tuesday I was in the Treatment Kennels which is were all the sick dogs are, I had to clean kennels, walk dogs, feed dogs and play with them! It was here that I fell in love with a dog called Uisce (pronounced ish-ca) which is the Irish word for water. I think she was called this because her eyes were blue! I loved her to pieces but on Monday evening she got moved to the rehoming kennels which is were the dogs go when they are healthy and up for adoption.

On Wednesday and Thursday I was moved to rehoming, I got to see Uisce again! I had to do the exact same thing here but the cleaning was more thorough because the public came in here to see dogs.

On my very last day 2 families came in to look at Uisce, I had to take her out of her kennel and show her to the families. It was very upsetting but I knew that she would be going to a happy home.

I made loads of new friends because there was 8 other people on work experience there with me. They were all so lovely! I had a great time and I really think I'm going to volunteer in the summer :D

I love TY :D
